Thanks for posting this! What I don't understand is why Facebook won't create a privacy setting that would allow you to approve or deny photo tags before they can appear on your profile.

There is a privacy setting that controls who can see photos tagged of you. You can find it in your privacy settings:

Things others share > Photos and videos you're tagged in.

It's completely customizable, right down to lists and/or individual friends.
